Last and Final Email October 7th 2014

Aloha Everybody!! Well, this the last Aloha letter I'll send. We had a pretty good week for my last week. Our zone hit it's goals for the week, so President will feed us a pancake breakfast! President started doing that a few transfers ago, when a zone hits it's weekly goals, he'll do a pancake breakfast for the zone, but I think president sets the goals for the zones. Hopefully we'll have the breakfast as a zone before I leave. I'll have breakfast with him one way or another, it just might not be with the Kaneohe zone. I'm going to miss this ward. when we come back I think we should come to this ward for 1 Sunday. When they announced in Sacrament meeting that they would be singing Aloha Oe to me,  everybody was surprised because they forgot I was leaving!
My mission went by pretty fast! But when I try to remember what I did in my first area it seems like it was a super long time ago! I had so many good experiences on my mission, I've grown a lot spiritually, and a little physically too lol! It feels like Hawaii is my home now, and it doesn't feel like I'm actually going home. Like when I go to the transfer meeting, President Warner will say "just kidding you're not going home, you're going to Maui" or something. It's like going on a mission all over again. I forgot what it was like back home, and I'll have to adjust again. I'm super excited of course, but I'm going to miss Hawaii! I've learned so much while I was out here, all the different kinds of people that live here from all over the world, and the languages too, all the different kinds of food, and having to live on an island! I've learned a lot from other missionaries, and from reading the scriptures, learned how to teach the gospel and apply it to mine and other peoples lives. In Ether 12:27 it says...                          "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."
Back home I wasn't a very talkative person. On my mission, I have seen my weaknesses improve and get stronger,  and I hope to have that continue my whole life. I've learned a lot about humility and patience on my mission. I've also seen how much the Spirit plays a role in our lives, and how much it's helped me in my mission. The scripture, " I will put into your mind in the very hour yea the very moment what ye shall say", is really cool and I've seen it work. The Spirit really does help me, especially in lessons. I have a really strong testimony of the Spirit and how much it's helped me in my mission. I'm going to miss my mission so much, and the people I've met! We'll just have to come back again someday! And then we'll do the fun stuff I didn't get to do lol! I loved my mission, and I wouldn't trade it for anything! Thank you guys so much for supporting me while I'm gone! Time for the looooooooooooooong plane ride home! Choke Mahalos!!!!! See you soon!!!!!!!!!!!! Aloha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 6th 2014!

Aloha everybody!!! How are you guys! We had a pretty good week. Our appointment with the family of 4 investigators, the Cordes and Ramos family, went pretty well. They fed us dinner and we had a lesson after. We taught them the Plan of Salvation. They knew most of it already lol! We helped answer the questions they had. After the lesson we told them about conference, and how we have a living prophet today. So then they got on their TV and recorded all the sessions of conference, while we were there! We have to find out what they thought of conference, when we see them again. Speaking of conference, I liked Pres Monson's talk in priesthood session about the battleship. It's always hard to stay awake during conference in Hawaii, because the morning sessions start at 6am
On Tuesday last week we got to watch the movie "Meet The Mormons". I was a really good movie. You guys should watch it. The beginning is pretty funny. We got to watch it with our whole zone at the Laie Hawaii Temple Visitor's Center. On Wednesday we went to pearl harbor again. This time it's the 2nd to last time. We'll be there next week again. So much pearl harbor lol! I have some pictures I took last week when we went ice skating, It was lots of fun. Enjoy the pics!

September 29th 2014

Aloha everybody! This week was a pretty good week. Lots of fun stuff happened. It rained for 3 days and we biked in it! I should of took pictures! We were so soaked! It was awesome lol. It's a great change from being hot and sweaty all the time. We did lots of service this week also. One of the times we just shoveled horse poop for 2 hours lol. We had lots of fun. We also went on exchanges twice this week. For one of them I went with Elder Moala in the Tongan Branch. It reminded me of when I used to serve in the Tongan ward in Honolulu. I can still understand most of what they're talking about. I'm going to miss all the Tongan people!   Oh and I bought an ukulele. I'll send you guys a picture of it. I like it, I'll try to practice some songs so I can play them when I get home.
Today is zone p-day so we're going to have fun lol! We went on a hike this morning to the light house. Again for like the 6th time. I didn't want to go but since we were going to be with the zone, we went anyway. Now we're emailing, and after we are going to go ice skating! That should be fun. We have an appointment with that one family of 4 investigators this wednesday. So that should be the highlight of this week. Enjoy the pictures. See you next week!!!

September 22, 2014

Aloha everybody!!! We had a great week! I told you guys last week that we had a dinner on Wednesday with investigators. It was an awesome dinner! The 2 grand parents, the son(wife is already a member), and also the grandchildren want to take the lessons! We set our next appointment on Oct 1st, I wish we could have it sooner but they're going to be busy until then.
The dinner they made us was awesome by the way! We also had 2 of our members invite one of our investigators over for dinner on Monday and Thursday. Our members are starting to help out more. Members help out a lot especially when investigators are going through hard times. I've seen how much the members help out in pretty much all my areas.
We went to the temple last week. They are doing some intense construction over by the visitor center, i forgot to take a picture of it. there used to be like a fountain pool thing but they dug it up and all the concrete around it. Not sure what they're planning to do. The next time i go to the the temple it'll be my last time while on a mission! My mission went by so fast! But then I feel like i lived here a long time lol! I took some pictures for you guys, enjoy!
PS: that water fountain is like a cannon lol!

September 15th 2014 One Month Left!!!!

Aloha everybody! We had a pretty good week last week. Our main investigator, Nohea, is still in the mainland. She'll be back on the 18th. But other than that we still had a pretty successful week! No appointments cancelled. We had 3 of our investigators come to church yesterday, so that was cool. And on Wednesday we will be meeting with 2 new investigators. They invited us over for dinner! So we are looking forward to that!
For P-day last week we also went to the Sea life park again and this time we got there earlier and stayed for most of the shows! It was pretty fun. There's like a walk in bird cage thing with choke birds and you can feed them, we probably had the most fun in there lol! you can see in the pictures! We are going to the temple tomorrow, so today isn't actually our P-day but we can email today! I think this week will be pretty good, temple trip, dinner with new investigators, yeah! looking forward to it! Take care guys! Talk to you next week!

Aloha!

September 8th 2014

Aloha everybody! We had a pretty fun week last week. For district meeting on Tuesday, President Warner came to sit in on the meeting. It was Elder Moala's first district meeting as a district leader. He said he was really scared because he thought President would correct him on everything and tell him how to do a district meeting. It was a good district meeting, President gave his input on the training and some new ideas, it was pretty cool. On Wednesday we went to Pearl Harbor! For the 9th time I think lol! I got a T-shirt from them since it was my last time. We helped them take down some banners, because the day before was the anniversary of Japan surrendering on board the USS Missouri in World War 2. It was pretty fun, especially since 2 zones were there, Kaneohe and Honolulu. Did some hanging out and service lol! We finished the service pretty quick because there was so many of us. Then for dinner that night we went to Teddy's bigger burgers and we both got a monster double hamburger, with 2 9oz patties. It was super huge and super good lol! I'll have to take you guys there when we come back lol! For P-day today, we went to the light house. (my 4th time!) But this time for the sunrise. We couldn't really see the sunrise, but we could see the other islands, pretty good, Molokai, Maui, Lanai, and even Big Island. It was pretty cool!
We've had another slowish week as far as missionary work goes. Nohea, and her husband are on the mainland until the 18th so we weren't able to meet with them this morning. So we'll resume teaching them when they come back. We need to emphasize the importance of coming to church next time we see them, because they haven't been yet. We got pretty bored one day and decided to knock on the highest door in our area lol! It's a pretty cool view at the top but takes a while and a lot of sweat to get there lol! We knocked on the highest door and the houses nearby, no luck, but it was still fun. That's all for this week I think! love you guys!!!!!!!

Aloha!,
Elder Randall

September 1st 2014

Aloha everybody! As you guys already know last week was transfer week! My new companion is Elder Saunders. He's from Vale Oregon, and he's been out for 10 1/2 months now. This week was a pretty slow week. We had a lot of appointments cancel. It seems like when there's a holiday coming up, no one wants to meet with us lol! We had an appointment this morning with Nohea and her husband, but she had to cancel. For Labor Day the ward will be having a picnic in Waimanalo, and hopefully there will be some non members there that we can talk to. All the members were supposed to invite all their friends and stuff. It'll be pretty fun, its at a beach park though so we'll have to stay on the grass lol! I had to fix my bike yesterday at a members house because the chain kept falling off, it's a beach cruiser with only one gear, so we had to go to a members house that had a socket wrench set and adjust the back wheel to make the chain tighter, so far so good, we'll so how long it lasts now until I have to fix it again. I had a dragon fruit for the first time last week and I got a picture of it. Well, that all I have to write about for this week I think. Hopefully this week will be better. See you next week!!!
