Christmas Eve!!

 Aloha everybody!

Last week has been really good! Tuesday wsa transfer day, and 3 Elders left: Elders Ross, Wagner, and Doel. I kind of miss them now. I don't know the names of the new Elders that came in except for Elder Simenoa. He's Samoan I think. Our ward Christmas party was on Saturday and there was lots of people and lots of food!!!! There was about 270 people there and we brought a less active member with us too. I also played the piano for the Elders quorum skit that we did, we sang Oh come all ye faithful. All the auxillaries did skits at the party, and I think the High priests did the best! They did a dance that was so funny, especially since it was a bunch of old guys doing it too!!! Durong the party, Elder Duck saw that one of his old companions that's been home for a year now so that was pretty cool. His name was Ethan Harris. After the party, we took some of the food home and ate it yesterday for lunch. Well i'm running out of time, so I'll just say I can't wait to call home tommorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you guys have a great Christmas!!!!!!!!!
love, Ty

December 17th. Late post

HI guys!!!!!!!
This week has been pretty fun. Especially with everyone getting ready for Christmas next week. Our ward Christmas party is on Saturday, so were excited for that, .
On tuesday last week, we went to Pearl Harbor to do service!! For our service we went in the U.S.S Missouri Battleship and wiped all the tables they had in there and some other things. After we finished, we went around the Battleship exploring the different areas. We got done around 1:00pm and they gave us fudge bars to thank us for helping them out. For the rest of the day I was on an exchange with Elder Mavae, because his companion, Elder Morris, was sick that day. Elder Mavae is from Tonga and he's been out for about 8 months so far. He's a really cool guy. His area covers half the Island so we were driving to different places. there'e one thing I want to share with you that happened that day that I thought was awesome. We were visiting different investigators and less active in the Tongan ward, but nobody was home, so on our way back to the car, there was a guy running after us saying "Wait! Wait!". So we stopped and he asked us if we were the Mormon missionaries, we said yes, and he said that he was an investigator and he had a baptismal date for the week before, but he had to move from Mililani to Waipahu unexpectedly. So we called the Mililani Zone leaders and they said they were tryin to find him for a while and said it was a miracle that we found him. So now the Mililani Zone leaders  will probably give their investigator to us now so we can baptize him.
On Friday  I went on another exchane with Elder Doel, he's from Utah and he's also very cool. We went to visit a lady he was going to baptize the next day. The lady had a freind over that night and we askedher to join in with the lesson. Her friend was very interested and we invited her to be baptized too. She accepted!!!. Her baptismal date is on Dec 29th!!
I've seen pretty cool stuff on exchanges so far. In our area however, we need to get the members involved in helping find people for us because our work has been a little slow last week. I think this next week will be awesome though!!!!!
I love  you guys!!!!

Two Weeks From Christmas!

Hi everybody.
Its been a fun week! It went by so fast. last week didn't start off so well though, the chain on my new bike broke while we were riding home, so the next day I got the chain off of the old bike and put it on. it took a while to do it with with mostly broken tools. But after I fixed it, all was well. On Friday, Elder Willyerd went on an exchange with me, and he knows my area really good, so we visited lots of people and found a few unbaptized members. Our goal this month is to get 3 baptisms per companionship, and I think we can do that, all we have to do now is set a date with the unbaptized members. One of the families, the Meltons have a daughter I think that isn't baptized, and the family is active, which is kind of weird. We also did a lot of zone tracting this week. I like zone tracting because we have everyone in the zone tracting in a certain area, and we get lots of new investigators that way, usually 6-10 new ones. Church yesterday went well, we had an investigator at church that the Bishop's family invited. We will probably visit him this week. Today was a fun day. We went shopping at Walmart, and played rugby. Rugby is pretty fun but I forgot to bring my shoes this time when the grass was actually dry, all other times we've played its been wet. Oh and Shawn Fabio dropped us, so that's a bummer, but now we have some more people we can teach this week through zone tracting. I'm also learning how to use a fire knife, and I made my own out of a pvc pipe. hopefully I can be good at it by the time I come home lol! Its been a fun week and I can't believe I've almost been here a month now! I love you guys so much!

Love Ty

December 3rd

Hi. Glad to hear you like the pictures. Mission life isn't really what I expected. But then I didn't know what to expect. I like that I can get my own food, like frosted flakes and other yummy cereals. Yeah, I can get all the food I want lol! I had a pretty good week last week. First, I got a brand new bike!!! Now we can go places without me being worn out using the bike with one pedal or have people give us rides. Then on Friday we had zone exchange, and I spent the whole day with Elder Packer. He's a short Korean guy, but he's from Utah. He's funny and he talks kind of fast. So the whole day we drove around his area trying to visit the people he had planned for the day. We didn't have any success doing that, but we had an appointment at 6:00 pm with a guy named Nathan. Nathan is like 40 years old and has a family, but we only met with him. Elder Packer said they've been meeting with him for like 3 or 4 months, and is not really progressing a lot. He hasn't been come to church yet, because his family goes to a different one. So we  set up a return appointment, this time with his whole family, but I won't be there for that appointment. The same day, we had an appointment with Shawn, but since it was zone exchange day, I wasn't able to go. Elder Duck said that Shawn doesn't want us coming over anymore because the family there doesn't really like us. So that kind of stinks, but we'll try some more. We're starting to get to know the members more, and getting to know members is very helpful for finding investigators. Oh and the Travis Smith guy, he was my companions first Zone leader!!!
Thanks for your prayers! I know there helping!
 Love, Ty

First Full Week in Hawaii

Hi everybody! Our P Day was switched to today because we went to the temple today. We had a good time over at the temple. I took lots of pictures for you guys. On the way back home there were lots of cool sights of mountains and the ocean.
Yesterday we taught our first investigator! Her name is Shawn and she wants to be baptized, but she needs to stop smoking first, and she's trying to accomplish that. For Thanksgiving we went to the Williams house and we had lots of food! Lots of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole stuff, and for desert we had heavenly hash, I don't really know what it is but it was very good! We still haven't tried any different foods, because our ward is a military ward, so we don't have very many polynesian people in our ward, but our dinner calendar is full and I look forward to seeing all the members.
We still have no bikes to use, so unless we can get rides, we have to walk, and walking is very time consuming especially when our apartment is an hour walk outside of our area. Sometime this week though, I'll get a new bike!

Elder Tyler Jason Randall
1500 S. Beretania St. Ste 416
Honolulu, HI 96826

This is my address to use while I'm on my mission.

Well, Hawaii is awesome! When we got to the Pres. house we had dinner, and we opened our envelopes that had our first area and companion. My first area is Ewa Beach 1st ward. (pronounced Eva). The zone/stake is called Waipahu.(pronounced Why pa who) My new companions name is Elder Duck. Ewa beach is a biking area but our bikes are broken right now so today we are going to go to walmart and get all the stuff we need. The weather in Hawaii right now is awesome! It stays a constant temp all day and night about 75deg. and always a cool breeze. Its like Alabama but always same temp all day, not hot or cold. My companion Elder Duck is into computers almost exactly like me. We were also whitewashed into our area, so the first week we didn't do much because we were getting lost alot and trying to figure out our area. Now we are pretty comfortable with the first half of our area the red, blue, and yellow. Our ward building is really different than what I'm used to but I think it's really cool. You walk in and you can see the sky, I sent pics so you can see what im talking about. Im having lots of fun getting to know my zone. 2 elders in our MTC district are in our zone, Elders Morris and Deane. I should of took more pictures but I forgot to bring my camera alot to places. Our apartment is kind of small, and also the Elders before left it really messy, so we have lots to clean up in there. I am looking forward to this week because our dinner calendar is almost full. We only got to eat at members homes twice last week, and I like getting to know the members. I hope you guys are having fun too!

Love Ty

More MTC pics

I finally know how spider man feels!

Magical scripture case!

Nov. 10,

It snowed yesterday!!! There's like 6 or 7 inches of snow right now!! We had lots of fun in the snow today. the mountains looked so cool this morning! I'm having fun in the MTC, but i also can't wait to leave for Hawaii!! We've had a great time in our classes and Bro. Bacon and Bro Roberts are great teachers. In the classes we just learn about how to best teach investigators, we learn how to personalize with them, how to begin teaching, personalize the lesson, and how we can be led by the Spirit, most importantly. Me and Elder Miller are really good at teaching all the "investigators" we have. It's weird because you know i don't talk alot, but when I teach with the Spirit, I always know what to say, I had a few awesome experiences with that. When i bore my testimony about the Atonement one time, I remember I very distinctly felt the Spirit as a burning in my chest. That was probably my best experience I had so far at the MTC. i also made sure I wrote that experience in my journal so I wouldn't forget it. I don't think i'll miss the food at the MTC, but i'll miss all the drinks you can get, soda, juice, chocolate milk, oh and the donuts. The gym time we have every day is always so fun, we always play volleyball. On wednesday,  a guy spiked the ball super hard, and it hit my stomach and knocked me on the floor, everyone including me was laughing, it always a blast at the gym. Oh and someone ransacked  our room yesterday, but we fixed it, lol. I put my magnets in my scriptures and now I can stick my scriptures on anything metal and it will stick there, its pretty cool. We also have an Elder in our zone that came from Hawaii, his name is Elder Kala. he's pretty cool. We tried to get him to speak pidgen, but he said it's hard and he can only do it with other people that can speak it, so I haven't gotten to hear any pidgen yet. It's awesome here and my knowledge and testimony have grown so much. Can't wait for Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!

MTC P-Day Oct. 26th 2012

everything is going well, I didnt have any of the cinnamon rolls yet, but I was totally surprised by the package, everyone in my district is jealous now. I had ranch dressing with some salad, does that count? lol. Im writing in my journal I only missed one day but I caught back up in my journal. I'm trying to not pick my fingers but I still do. tehe.

The pic with all the missionaries is our district, or the Hawaiian Elders, since all of us are going to Hawaii. The guy standing next to me is my companion and also our District Leader. His name is Elder Miller, he's from Mesa, AZ, which I thought was cool.
