April 29

Aloha!!!!
We had a fun week last week! we also had transfers on Wednesday. A lot of missionaries got transfered in our zone. We are now in the same district as the Waimanalo elders, which is at the other side of the zone. Kahaluu and Waimanalo are at opposite ends of the zone.  Elder Allen is our district leader and he just came from Waipahu, so I know him.  At district meeting on Friday I talked with him and he told me all what happened in the zone after I left.  He said Elder Dorff in Ewa 1st ward, had another baptism!!!  But he didn't know who it was.  That's great for them, maybe it was Ronel.  On my birthday my companion Elder Mendoza, woke me up at 6:30 and sang happy birthday to me.  That was really funny because I was still sleeping, and he took a video of it and i looked so tired.  So, then I got out of bed and started on my pancake cake.  The cake may not have looked good but it sure tasted good!  After dinner some other missionaries Elder Yamashita and Elder Orton came over and gave me a birthday card. As far as missionary work, our investigators are still progressing, and they want to be baptized, so we are still working with them so they can meet their goal to be baptized.  So, we are excited for them.  Elder Mendoza has gout and his left knee has been bothering him for the past few days, he's been limping everywhere I feel bad for him, he got gout while on his mission a few months back.
Well thats all I got for the week, we didn't do a hike this morning Just breakfast with a member.
I love you guys!! aloha!!!

Aloha!
I just got the birthday package on Saturday. Thank you guys soo much! I don't know how we're going to cook the cake because we don't have an oven! Maybe we can make it like pancakes and then frost them, that would be funny! Anyways we had a good week last week our last week of the transfer! On Wednesday I'll be six months out! 1/4 of the way lol! The people we are teaching are still progressing and in May they will be ready to be baptized. I am not going to be transfered and neither is Elder Mendoza, so we will be here another 6 weeks, next transfer day is June 5th. On P-day we did zone activities the whole day, we played ping pong in the morning at 10 had a zone lunch at a chinese place, and did a slip n slide at one of the chapels. We had lots of fun and I got lots of pictures of the slip n slide. I think 7 missionaries are going to transfer into our zone. I'm looking forward to this new transfer!!

April 15th

Aloha!!!
Elder Mendoza and I had a pretty good week last week. We found a few new people that we arestarting to teach. However, patrick, that one with the baptismal date for the 27th, changed his mind about baptism, so me and Elder Mendoza were sad that day when he called us. Hopefully we can meet with him again and discuss his concern. So this week we focused mainly on finding people to teach, so we knocked on a lot of doors and tried to meet with all the part member familes, and found some people to teach. I'm finding it easier for me to explain to people the things we teach and helping them to understand better. me and Elder Mendoza teach well together I think. Today we didn't really do a hike, we went to a sight seeing place and I got a picture but right after that it started raining, so we all went back to our cars and left, it rains alot over here, not hard but just light rain. It was Elder Mendoza's birthday yesterday, he's 22 now, Elder Orton and Elder Yamashita came over to give him a birthday card, a superman card that has the superman theme song, it was pretty funny. I'm looking forward to playing volleyball again today after we email, we do it every p-day! Have a wonderful week!!!!

April 8th

Aloha!!!
We had a good week last week. We got one of our investigators to commit to a baptized on the 27th. We just need to make sure that he comes to church for 3 weeks so he can be baptized. For general conference we had to wake up at 4:30am to get ready and also pick up some other Elders so we could get to the stake center on time. We were so tired. After the 2nd session we all took naps.lol. After the 2nd session on sunday, we had a zone lunch at a members house where the zone leaders lived. There was lots of food! We didn't do anything exciting this morning, just laundry, I was hoping to go on another hike, but we didn't. It was nice to watch all the sessions of conference for the first time. there are now over 65,000 missionaries in the world, and another 20,000 already have their call. I can't wait till next conference to see how many missionaries are serving!

April 1st

Aloha everybody!!!
last week was really fun and interesting. Tuesday, I went on an exchange with Elder Takei in his area which is a walking area. Elder Takei is from Japan and he's been on his mission for almost 2 months. He went to school at BYU Provo before his mission so he knows how to speak English pretty well, but he has a funny accent. So Elder Takei and I had a pretty good day just walking and geeting to know each other more, and visited the people he had planned to visit. We probably walked like 7 miles and my feet hurt so bad, but the next morning my feet felt just fine. This week was super slow as far as missionary work. It seemed like everybody was busy or gone on vacation because of spring break and Easter. Here spring break is a week and a half. Wednesday we did an hour of tracting and nobody was home or didn't want to answer the door. So we focused more on the part member/ less active familes past 2 weeks. On Friday we went on another exchange, and I went with Elder Sheperd to his area. Elder Sheperd is from Oregon! They have bikes in their area but they have nice bikes, so I actually enjoyed biking around with him. We didn't do much that day because the apartment building had a water leak somewhere and the manager guy wanted to check all the rooms to find out where the leak was, we were told to stay in the room untill they found the leak. They found it around 3pm. So we were able to leave by then. We visited a part member family and invited the non member to be baptized, and he said he would love to be baptized! On saturday I was back in my own area. We only had one investigator at church on Sunday, it's hard to get people to come to church here, probably because we have it at 3pm. Today we did another hike. This one was pretty easy, no mud or rough trail just paved all the way. At the end there is a light house that you can't get to, but the view is always awesome. Well that's all for this week. Have fun be safe. Aloha!!!!!!!!
