November 19th 2013

Aloha everybody!!! I think I forgot to mention last week that we have transfers coming up tomorrow, the 20th. But don't worry I'm not getting transferred. I'm staying in the Tongan ward in Honolulu. that means I get to stay here till Christmas! wow I can't believe that Christmas is already almost here!!! It'll be my last Christmas on the mission.
Last week was kind of a slow week. Everybody pretty much rescheduled appointments to next week. Its always a bummer when that happens. But we are looking forward to this new transfer, especially because it will be during the Holiday season. And we have more people we are working with and progressing towards baptism.
Sorry I didn't email you guys yesterday. You guys were probably wondering why I haven't emailed. It's because we went to the temple again! This time it was a different Elder from the Marshall Islands Mission, Elder Schmidt. He was here for medical reasons and is stayed for 2 1/2 weeks, he goes back to his mission on Friday. Its cool that we always get missionaries from different missions to stay here with us for a few days.
For Pday  we went to a members house in Kahala, the Cloward's house. They have a super nice house right on the beach! We did some volleyball, ate hotdogs and pizza and of course a slip n slide! I took some pictures of their backyard and when we went to the temple with Elder Schmidt.

Aloha everybody!!! I always look forward to emailing you guys every week. One thing I forgot to mention last week was that we had our interviews with president warner. It went well. He also let us know that we will be getting iPads either by Christmas or In January, and he wants me and elder wells to do a training for the iPads when we get them for the missionaries in the mission. He says Elder Wells and I are his most computer savvy missionaries lol! We'll see how that goes if that happens, it'll be fun I'm sure. On Thursday last week we went to the temple again because we had a missionary serving in the Marshall Islands mission come stay with us for a couple days. His name was elder Fesolai, from New Zealand. He was a traveling assistant to his mission president and he had a 2 day layover in Hawaii. What a great place to have a layover.! Lol! So we got permission from president warner to go to the temple with him, because he hasn't gone in 2 years. He only has a month left. Him and my companion would talk to each other in their New Zealand accents, it was funny! lol!  We didn't do anything special for Pday yesterday, the zone leaders said it was too muddy to hike Koko head, because it rained for 2 days straight the days before. So we just did basketball like we normally do in Honolulu zone.

OK about the baptisms that we had scheduled for last week. We had to push them back because of they're work schedules. One of our members work with them at the same company, they're co workers pretty much and he gave them to us so we could teach them, so now we have to reschedule with them. People are so busy here in Honolulu. Everybody has like 3 jobs its crazy! So while our members works with his co workers, we have a baptism coming up on Thursday. So far it's looking good with this one so I'm hopeful. I'll let you what happens next week!!!

November 6th 2013

Aloha Everybody! Its been a while. like 9 days. The reason for that is, we went to the temple yesterday and when we got back from the temple the libraries were already closed, so we get to email today. Only me and one other Elder from our zone went to the temple, because when i got to Honolulu zone they already did their temple trip. I went with Elder Thompson. Makakilo zone and Waipahu zone were at the Temple too, so I got to see all my old friends that were in those zones. We had a pretty good time. We also did a hike. We hiked Manoa falls, It wasn't much of a waterfall as you can see in the pictures, but we still had fun.
I'm getting better at navigating around Honolulu now, It was super confusing at first. Our ward mission leader brought us to go teach a new family, a mom and her son, and we're teaching them the missionary lessons and they want to get baptized! All that happened in 1 day so that's pretty exciting. Next time we meet with them on Saturday we are going to set a date for the 30th of Nov.. We also have 2 baptisms scheduled for this Friday, but my companion set them up before I got here and they've been busy, so I haven't been able to meet them yet, but I will on Friday! The members here in the Tongan ward help us out so much! It's awesome! I wish every ward was like this. In this ward we depend on the members so much I don't know what we would do without them besides tract! It's so awesome to see people progress so fast once we first contact them and work with them. they realize what they need to change in their life and they are willing do make that change for the better even if it might be hard, they know that they will be blessed greatly if they follow the gospel and are baptized. This area is awesome! lol. I love it. The Tongan people are great. can't wait for next week!

Love,
Elder Randall
