Aloha Everybody!!!!!!
I have had a great week last week! We had a baptism on Saturday. Her name is Eta Paea. She's Tongan. She's super awesome and the people in the Ward love her. I'm glad that I got to get to know her, teach her and help her on her way to be a better person! She came to Hawaii 2 months ago from Samoa, lol a Tongan living in Samoa I know. Elder Takei did the baptism and I did the Confirmation, in sacrament meeting. It was a cool experience. So that was the main highlight of last week. This area is a lot easier for me to get to know my way around, less crowded, long straight highways, very spread apart area. Bigger than my last area, even though my last area, covered 3 zones. Pahoa area is a tiny fraction of the Big Island. It's pretty much the eastern tip of the island if you look on a map.
Alright now the highlight this week so far...... We went to a waterfall called rainbow falls, it was pretty cool, just right off the road so no hike. After that we went up to Mauna Kea!!!!!!!!!!!! It took like an hour to get to the top of the mountain from Hilo. When you're driving you can see the mountain the whole time because it's soo big. Then when you start getting close, you can see The other mountain, Mauna Loa, Mauna Loa isn't as tall as Mauna Kea, a couple hundred feet shorter, but it's sooooo much more massive! but you can't drive there because it's an active volcano lol. At the top of Mauna Kea at around 10am it was 40-45 degrees and there was still snow up there. Not much but some. At the top they have a bunch of observatories, and since you're up at 13,000 feet, you're also above all the clouds. It was such a cool view!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll take you guys there for sure when we come back here as a family. Alright that's all for this week! enjoy the pictures!!!!

HI guys I don't have very much time because there's only 3 computers
we can email on right now, and other missionaries are waiting behind
me, but I'll say that the Big island is super flippin
it's like driving through the country parts of Alabama, except that it
rains like everyday here. the water that runs through our house is
rain water, so we cant drink it or we'll get sick, so we have a 5
gallon thing of water that we fill up every so often. The car that we
have is a Chevy Cruz, which is nicer than the corollas so I'm happy
that i get to drive that, but the mission is trying to get us a truck
because the roads that we have to go on are to rough for the car, lol
I took a video of us going down this one road, but i can't send it to
you guys because its to big.
we hiked in a cave today. it was fun. super dark in there lol no one
brought flashlights except me lol!
Oh yeah, um i get along with my companion so far. his name is Elder
takei , he's Japanese. he has an accent that he wants me to help him

February 10,2014

Aloha everybody!!!! Guess what's happening! I'm getting transferred to the Big Island!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!! finally going off this Island!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to be in Hilo zone in the Pahoa area. I'm so excited!!!! I'm going to be companions with Elder Takei, a Japanese guy. I'm also sad that I'm leaving this ward though. I'm going to miss all the members. But I'm so excited to go off Island!!!!! In my new area, I'll have the volcano national park, so I'm for sure going to go there, maybe next P day!!!!!!!!!!! Wow I can't wait. I loved serving in the Tongan ward, I learned some Tongan and I think that I can bear  my testimony now in Tongan. I might need to practice it a little more though, lol.

February 3rd 2014

Howz it!!! Wow this week went by really fast! Probably because we worked a lot! Well we tried anyway. It rained like everyday this week! And I don't like walking out in the rain! Oh by the way, Next week Wednesday is transfers, I wouldn't mind staying another transfer here in the Tongan Ward, but if I do get transferred, I hope I go off island!!!!!! Well this week was a pretty slow week as far as missionary work. Some of our Investigators we would stop by multiple times a day every other day and we could never catch them home! It's always frustrating when that happens. So we visited more members than we usually do and challenge them to invite a friend over for Family home evening so we can teach more lessons and more people. Our Bishop said that whoever provides us dinner HAS to give us at least one referral, so hopefully that will help us a lot. Our Bishop is always asking what he can do to help us. He's an awesome guy. I'm going to miss this area if I leave. So that was pretty much the work for this week. I took some cool pictures of the sunset, we went up a street that goes to 1300 feet above sea level and took some pictures of the sunset, it was super cool, before coming to Hawaii I've never seen a sunset like that!!!!!!! We don't have anything special planned for today just basketball like we always do but i don't play lol,  probably because I'm not good at it. Oh and also we're not allowed to play football and rugby anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! President says its because Elders are getting injured because of it. Everybody's mad about that, because everyone here in the islands play touch rugby, and now we can't without breaking the rules. it'll probably change but it's not a big deal for me right now since we don't really play rugby in this zone anyway. Well that's all for this week, I'll definitely anxious for transfers coming up next week, and see where I'll go or if I stay. If I stay, I'll be in this area for almost 6 months lol, my longest area.
