July 28, 2014

Aloha everybody!!!
We had a pretty fun week. As you already know we went to the PCC. It was pretty awesome! We saw part of the boat show or whatever it was called, then we went to the Samoan show, it was pretty cool, the guy that did it was really funny. Then we went to the Tahiti show, that was pretty good, then the Tongan show. The Tongan show was also pretty funny, they picked a guy from the audience that was from Alabama to be a part of the show. I thought that was pretty cool. I can't wait to see the night show now! We had lots of fun at the PCC!!!
This week is transfer week, and I found out that I'm being transferred! Only 1 transfer in this area I guess lol. I don't know where I'm being transferred to yet, I'll find out Wednesday I guess. They're going back to not telling you your new area till Wednesday. All I know is that I'm staying on Oahu lol, not going off Island again. It would be funny if I went to a car area again! So much for losing weight in a biking area before I go home lol!
I'll have to keep in touch with the Elders in this area to see what's going on with Casie and the Browne family. I'm going to miss those people. We will be meeting the Browne family tonight, so hopefully we can extend the baptismal invitation again and set a date for their baptism. Hopefully they will continue to progress in the gospel while I'm gone in my new area! I hope you guys will have a great week also! Thanks for all the letters!!

July 22nd 2014

Aloha everybody! We had a pretty fun week this past week. All last week was ward camp, from Monday to Saturday, but of course we didn't go to that lol, but we did go to the Friday night potluck dinner. It was pretty fun. There were a lot of people there, even less active members and non members. then after we ate they started making huge bubbles lol. Oh and the reason that we emailed today is because we have our P-day today. We just got back from the temple, and it was pretty awesome, our mission president was even there! So for P-day not only did we go to the temple, but we are also going to the PCC! We are going to be doing it as a zone activity, and it'll be lots of fun I'm sure! We only get to see the day shows though, only the missionaries that are going home get to see the night show, which I'll be seeing in a couple months lol! Oh by the way thanks for all the letters you guys are sending me! It keeps surprising me everyday when I open the mailbox!
I get one like everyday now lol! Oh and I have pictures this week don't worry!
As far as missionary work goes, things are going alright, it's hard for us to find people that are willing hear our message. The one part member family I told you guys about before, we weren't able to meet with them last night, which is the only time they are free. The dad has been having to work more last week and now this week. Our other investigator, Casie, is still coming to church. Casie has been taught all the lessons and wants to be baptized, but the only problem is that her mom is very against the Church and her getting baptized. It's a hard situation for Casie to decide. So we're fasting and praying for her and her mom. All we can do is to encourage her to do what she feels is right and she and her family will be greatly blessed by the gospel. Well, I love you guys so much, I thank you for all the things you do for me! I hope again that we will be successful this week in doing the Lord's work!

Love,
Elder Randall

July 14th 2014

Aloha everybody!!! We had a pretty good week. Didn't start too great, but it ended well. I say that because after I emailed you guys last week I started to feel sick, so we went home, and ended up staying home all day monday and Tuesday. It was like I had food poisoning all over again, but I didn't eat anything bad. The mission nurse said it might be a stomach bug or something. I feel okay right now though so that's good, but the nurse said it could take 10-14 days for it to get out of my system. In spite of that we were able to get a lot of work done the rest of the week. We taught a lot of lessons and we had 7 investigators go to church yesterday. So the week ended super good!!! We were able to talk to the ward mission leader about the ideas that I had about having the members help out more as far as missionary work goes. We're looking forward to the help we will be getting. I don't think I'll be sick this week so we should be able to get even more work done! We also went on exchanges on Friday, I went to the Wahiawa 1st area with Elder Shute. It was pretty fun. Wahiawa kind of reminds me of my last area as far as how the people are. We will also be going on exchanges on wednesday, but this time I'll be staying and Elder bergman will be going to wahiawa. Well that's all for this week! Hope you guys have fun!

July 7th 2014

Aloha Everybody!!!! We had a pretty fun week last week. We celebrated the 4th of July as a zone. We got together and had a barbecue with hot dogs, pizza, soda, otai, and lots of other stuff. It was lots of fun. We didn't get to see fireworks though, so that was the only downside. We also did some fire knifing last week because it was an Elder's year mark, so we got most of the zone together and did some fire knifing, it was fun.
As far as missionary work goes, it was better than I thought it would be, considering it's 4th of July week. The family I told you about last week, we had a lesson that night. They are a really cool family, the lesson went pretty well, the wife had a lot of questions because she was raised Catholic. And we found another guy through tracting, and we just had a lesson with him yesterday. We are also starting to teach a former investigator, so we had a pretty busy week, other than 4th of July weekend of course. We will be meeting with our ward mission leader this week and I'll tell him about my ideas on how we can get the members to help out more. Hopefully we can get something going in this area. The members are great, so I think that the ideas we have will work. Well thank you guys for your support and I'll talk to you guys next week!!!

Aloha,

June 30th 2014

Aloha! Good news! I'm not sick today! Haha. It's hard getting used to a biking area again! It's good exercise though. There's net very much going on in this area, as far as missionary work, except this one part member family that is now coming to church and a progressing investigator that we have. We will be teaching the part member family tonight, the Brown family. They are a really cool family. The wife is not a member and she was responsible for them coming to church!!! Funny huh? I think they have been coming for like a month now, and the husband just got a calling yesterday. Tonight will be my first lesson with them since we were sick last Monday. We also gave talks at church yesterday, we talked about priesthood in the family. The person that was supposed to give a talk was sick, so they called us the night before lol!! But of course we were able to quickly put together a talk. It's only my 2nd time giving a talk in sacrament meeting on my mission.
For Pday today we aren't doing anything special, just the usual, email, shopping, and basketball. We have zone activities only once a transfer now. And with bikes it makes it hard to go see cool stuff, because usually the cool stuff is far away lol! Anyways, I want to try to get some work going in the ward as far as missionary work. Our ward mission leader is in Korea right now so, we will have to wait for him lol. I have some ideas that we have done in my past wards, so we will try them in this ward. I think it will work well in this area. The people are nice here in this area, but they just don't want to talk to missionaries. Like all of my other areas, we could talk to more people when we go tracting than we can in this area. We'll see how this week goes. I'm sure that we can get this area going. Hope you guys have a great week!!! I don't have any pictures for this week sorry!
